PoE-Powered USB-C Charging Station
The PoE-Powered USB-C Charging Station uses power over ethernet to charge as many as three iPads, Android tablets or USB devices.
The Charging Station is a “power only” solution. It does not provide a data connection.
The Charging Station is ideal for use in situations where you wish to locate the tablets and/or USB devices away from an AC outlet and a wired data connection is not required.
Uses cases for the Charging Station include:
- Power a bank of tablets being used for registration at events or building entrances
- Power as many as 3 tablets or USB devices in a trade show booth
- Provide a way for students, travelers or customers to temporarily connect their devices to USB power
- Recharge as many as 3 tablets or USB devices overnight

What is the purpose of the LEDs?
- The Power LED will be GREEN when connected to a PoE++ switch. It will be YELLOW when connected to a PoE or PoE+ switch. (A PoE++ switch is required.)
- The LED next to each USB-C port will turn GREEN when the port is providing power.
If the power LED is OFF the 4 most likely causes of the problem are:
- Your ethernet switch does not provide power over ethernet. (If you are not sure, email the brand and model of the switch to us.)
- You are plugged into a port on the switch that is not a PoE port. (Many PoE-enabled switches have both PoE ports and non-PoE ports.)
- There is a problem on your network between the C7-POEPWR-3 and the switch. (For testing purposes, try plugging the C7-POEPWR-3 directly into the switch using a short ethernet cable.)
- The switch provides a non-standard version of PoE. Ubiquiti, for example, sells switches that provide 24V PoE. Those switches work with certain Ubiquiti devices but are not able to power the C7-POEPWR-3.

What type of PoE switch or injector is required?
A PoE++ (802.3bt) switch or injector is required.
How much power is provided by each USB-C port?
Each port can provide 15W (5V 3A).
If I am connecting an iPad to the charger on a 24/7 basis, will it stay charged?
Yes. Apple specifications for USB-C iPads and iPhones state that 15W will keep a USB-C iPad or iPhone charged.
What type of USB-C cable is needed to connect to devices?
It is OK to use either a USB 2 USB-C cable or a USB-3 USB-C cable. It is preferable to use a cable that is 5 feet long or less. If using a longer cable use a cable that has been USB-IF certified. (As cable length increases the voltage that reaches a device will drop.)
