Redpark Product Development announced today that it is now shipping the Serial+Power Adapter for iPhone and iPad. The adapter connects an iPad or iPhone to an RS-232 serial device and power.
“Customers that use iPad in kiosks, factories or labs often need to connect iPad to a serial device for an extended period of time”, explained Redpark president Mike Ridenhour. “This makes it challenging to keep the iPad charged.”
The Serial+Power Adapter addresses that challenge. It provides a simple and reliable way to connect to a serial device and power at the same time. The Adapter is designed for use with all iOS devices that have a Lightning connector.
It connects to the iPad or iPhone using a standard Lightning to USB cable. A 12V (19.2W) power adapter is included with each Serial+Power Adapter. The Adapter is compatible with apps that have been built with Redpark’s RSC MGR SDK.
The Serial+Power Adapter (part# L4-SERP) has an MSRP of $99 and is available today.
Redpark Product Development announced today that it is now shipping the first adapters that connect iPad to gigabit ethernet, the Gigabit + PoE Adapter and Gigabit + Power Adapter. These adapters allow iPad customers to connect to ethernet while simultaneously charging the device. “While wireless networking meets the needs of most iPad users, there are times when it’s preferable to connect iPad to ethernet,” explained Redpark President Mike Ridenhour.
